Hello all

This is my first entry and i thought i would tell you what this blog will be about, i will post a new entry once a week to let whoever wants to know what I'm up to in college, hence the name, Nathan's college adventures.

So i think the first thing i will tell you about is moving in, when i first moved in and i met my roommates it was very awkward around them and no one really talked then as time progressed we started talking more and more and now in my opinion we are all each others best friends and basically like a family to each other.

Now last Sunday in church i was giving a calling and i am the family home evening instructor, what i do is 2 times a month i will be teaching the a 15 min lesson in fhe which can be whatever i want or whatever i am inspired to write about. I am supposed to meet with the family home evening leader and plan when and where we will be having fhe. Something funny about my particular group is that we have the only girl fhe leader and i am the only boy fhe instructor so me and my roommates are joking that she is the fhe dad and i am the fhe mom. but it doesn't matter because I'm sure it will be the same either way.

So yesterday was labor day and me and my roommates and a couple other people decided that we were going to hike to the top o y mountain. We started with a bunch of people, our group had 17 people in it and we hiked to the y then our little group headed to the top of the mountain, we had 7 people: Erick my roommate, J.j. in the room next to mine, Luke in the other room next to mine (we made a blog dedicated to him and the things that he says because he is hilarious this is at shippmates.wordpress.com if you want to check it out), Katie one of J.j.'s friends from Virginia and now she is part of the group we all hang out together to do stuff, Lorraine she is from our ward and she wanted to come and she is pretty cool, Weston he is in the apartment under ours and he wanted to go to, and then there was me. The way up was quite difficult because the trail was pretty steep i would say about a 20% grade, and also because the air was thin (i still haven't gotten used to being at 5,000 feet let alone hiking up 3,000 feet higher) either way the trail up was so beautiful you just look around and you are in awe of what actually is around where you live, it was almost surreal. When we got to the top we had lunch and we overlooked the whole Provo valley which was amazing, i will upload the pictures that i took just as soon as i get the Sim card for my camera when my mom sends it but it was beautiful. We built a 68 out of rocks because the 7 of us are all from the BYU 68th ward.

I was at the football game on Saturday, they were broadcasting it in the wilk, BYUSA sponsored it and there was free food and drinks and it was a great time. The whole atmosphere was amazing during the whole game, the room went crazy every time we scored, made a good stop, got a first down, made a good pass or run and basically the whole time, especially when Colbey Clawson dislocated Sam Bradford's shoulder, he was the Heisman trophy winner from last year so it was a good thing for us that he got injured or else i don't think we would have won. After the game the whole campus was alive with excitement. Our group decided that we were not going to stay in our apartment that night because we were all pumped from the game, we heard about this dance party that was happening at the Cannon Center so we got a bunch of people from our dorm buildings and we headed over there, it was a lot of fun and of course i was dancing with a lot of girls.

The work load in college is about the same as high school except there is way more reading to do and if you know me you know i don't like reading but in any case i do it anyways because i don't want to fall behind. Yes mom i am doing my homework before i go out and do all these fun things. That seems like it so i will write again next week so till then bye bye, GO COUGARS.
